Promo codes

What this page covers
How to create discount codes that families can apply to your team fee: percent-off or dollar-off, when they are valid, and how many times they can be used. After reading you'll be able to create, edit, deactivate, and review the use of your team's codes.
Before you start
- You must be a team admin on the team.
- Open the menu and tap Promo Codes.
- Decide the details:
- Percentage or Fixed amount off,
- a Promo Code you want people to type (it is stored in capital letters, and every code must be unique on your team),
- optional Valid From and Valid Until dates, and
- the Max Uses (optional) — leave it empty for unlimited uses.
Step-by-step
- On Promo Codes, tap Create Code.
- Enter the code, choose Percentage or Fixed, enter the Discount Value, and add the optional dates, use limit, and description.
- Tap Create Code. The code becomes available to families immediately (or from its Valid From date).
To change a code later: tap Edit on its card, change what you need, and save.
To stop a code: tap Deactivate. Deactivated codes stop accepting new uses but stay in your list with their history, and you can Activate them again later.
What you should see
- The new code appears in the list. The summary at the top tracks Active Codes, Total Uses, and Total Discount, and you can filter the list with All, Active, and Inactive.
- Each code's card shows how many times it has been used against its limit (or "∞" when unlimited).
- A promo code can be entered in two places:
- during registration of an athlete, or
- later, on a pending payment (for example, on the Pending Payments screen).
- View Usage on a code's card shows the individual recorded uses and the Total Saved for that code.
Notes and limits
- Codes belong to one team — a code created for your team only works for your team's fees.
- When a code has reached its maximum number of uses, or is outside its start/end dates, or is deactivated, the app will not accept it.
- A fixed dollar amount can never discount more than the fee itself — a code bigger than what is owed simply reduces the payment to zero.
- Applying a code to a pending payment reserves one of its uses while that payment is open. Removing the code before paying releases it, so a family who changes their mind doesn't burn a use.
- The usage counts shown can be incomplete. A successful payment isn't always added to a code's count, so the totals can be lower than the number of families who actually used it. Treat them as a guide, and use the payments screens as the record of what was charged.
- Only team admins can create, edit, or deactivate codes; other members can use them.
